All my life I've tried to love
A painted love that's never been
And now from ashes comes the sun
Lightning paths I'd never seen

Slightly drunk from sleepless dreams
Worlds unfold beneath my feet
All my women turned to smoke
Burnt from heartless purple glass

Tired of opaque loving eyes
I catch the glimpse of real stares
Looking through in curious glances
To find in me my truths and dares

But just as I approach the ground
A last sad joke remains unknit
Somehow testing my suspicion
That there is not an answer fit

Is this just one more shade of purple
Built from hope on lifeless glass?

In times of choice as tight as these
Choose it once for no return

Let it burn as hence I've learnt
Or call this vase the one to save?
